Barranti/Caskey Project

Welcome to the Barranti/Caskey Project! We are South of Pittsburgh and also Vero/Wabasso Beach/Sebastian, Florida and play as a Duo (Guitars, Mandolin, Slide - Acoustic or Electric) or Full Band (add the Best Drummers & Bass Players that we know!). Guitarist Matt Barranti is a full time musician and teacher and has many albums out with The Matt Barranti Band. Known for his killer slide work in the vein of Duane Allman, Matt is versatile in all genre’s of music, and is presently Foghat's slide guitarist (2026). Matt has opened for many national acts including The Outlaws, Atlanta Rhythm Section and in the 90’s did an Allman Brothers Tribute tour with Dan & Frankie Toler, Dru Lombar and Thom Ducette. Mark D Caskey is originally from Winston Salem, NC and was lucky enough to see Doc Watson in Asheville when he was 4 years old. Mesmerized by Docs Acoustic, Mark tends to play more Acoustic Guitar, but loves to strap on his Telecaster or Les Paul on for the harder hitting Blues, Rock and Southern Music that he loves, as well as some interesting twists playing Mandolin. Together, Barranti & Caskey play singer songwriter tunes by the likes of John Prine, Old Blues Standards, British stars such as Clapton, Stones and Faces, Derek and the Dominoes and of course Allmans, Outlaws, Skynyrd, Marshall Tucker and so many more.
